AC Milan sporting director Igli Tare is working on various options to strengthen the squad, in particular the midfield department.
The big news from Wednesday was that Reijnders is on the verge of leaving Milan, because Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign him which is worth around €70-75m, depending on which source you believe.

That means that – just like after the Sandro Tonali sale, another painful exit – the midfield must once again be rebuilt after the departure of its most important player. There are, however, some ideas in mind.
Milan’s midfield target
According to Sky, the first reinforcement in the middle of the park will be Luka Modric, ready to sign a one-year deal after his commitments with the Croatian national team are over.
He alone will not be enough, so Samuele Ricci from Torino remains the other priority objective. Another name that has emerged on the Rossoneri’s radar though is Nicolo Rovella of Lazio.
The interest in Ricci has been spoken about for weeks and with the Reijnders money there could be a sudden acceleration towards the finish line, but Rovella – who also plays as a regista – is a relatively new idea.
The 23-year-old joined Lazio in 2023 on a two-year loan from Juventus with a conditional obligation to buy. Those conditions have been met and so the capital club are free to sell, but they will likely want a lot for a player who played 44 times in all competitions last season.
I started to think that Tare read comments on SempreMilan, since a lot of names he is targeting have been mentioned or suggested by fans in this patform lol. Unlike Furlani, who perhaps reads only “Bussiness Today” kind of newspaper.

I know this might be unrealistic, but this would be a awesome lineup, maybe get a new RW and start puliaic at the CAM with ricci and rovella behind? Could work quite well. But we need to use money if we sell, and I don’t think that allegri would have taken the job if he didn’t belive that we are going to spend this season.
But MUST BUYS are, Ricci, Cambiaso or udogi if we sell theo.

At least you know you’re not being realistic and this sort of squad turnover would be crazy, but come on, who is paying those sorts of numbers?
You’d be lucky to get half that amount for Pobega, Bennacer, RLC, Royal… and that’s assuming there’s a club that wants them and is willing to take on their salaries too. Even the others are wildly optimistic figures.
Remember for each player we buy too, there are agent fees (~10-15% with the cap) and signing bonuses expected. If Lazio demand 40M for Rovella, that’s a 50M price plus salary.

In my opinion Lucas Chevailer is better than Vanja because he is like a regen to Mike, french and plays for Lille and I feel like if tomori can regain form he will play well with Pavlovic and the main reason we conceded a lot was because of our full-backs. The midfield is also good and strong defensivly. Unfortunately even though all the prices are realistic I doubt he will spend.
Ardon jashari is the right guy for our midfield also rovella is great but not ricci
Other sources say Rovella is the target now as Tare & Allegri aren’t convinced by Ricci.

I’m starting to think that this would in fact be the better route here. At first I was OK with Ricci but I guess Rovella would be a “less risky” option.
Ricci stats are not that good, i don’t know why there is so much hype around him.
