CorSport: Lazio serious about Romagnoli and put forward raised contract offer worth €31m

By Oliver Fisher -

Lazio appear to be serious about signing Alessio Romagnoli on a free transfer as they have raised their contract offer to him, a report claims.

As reported by il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), Lazio president Claudio Lotito is going further in order to sign the defender and make him the new captain of the club. Romagnoli is a Lazio fan so the idea of one day joining them has always been on his mind.

Lotito’s latest offer is €3.2m net per season fixed, which is a very high figure even if it is far from his current salary at Milan which is €5.5m. The Rossoneri have made an attempt to keep him with a lower offer than that and he now seems inclined to accept Lazio and fulfil a personal ambition of sorts.

Maurizio Sarri has also given his approval to the move because he believes that Romagnoli would raise the quality of the defence. A five-year deal is ready which would therefore be a commitment of €31m gross.

  1. It is strange if he accept what lazio offer. For 400k euro gap, and sacrifice playing for UCL. Money really does talk

    1. He is a lazio fan and never made a secret out of it and neither when he was a as roma player so as much as i would like to keep him i can kinda understand him if that is his true football love.

    2. Not only money bro..romagnoli is laziale since childhood.so basically he need to fullfill his dreams for his childhood club..i think it is the right time for the capitano to mobe to lazio..because milan is already heavily linked to botman transfer

  2. Lazio offer 3,2m euro / season but he guaranted starter. AC Milan offer 2,8m euro/season but just as reserve. I think he Will out . Hoping AC Milan sign botman and viti ( romagnoli replacement) . Viti are left footed CB too like romagnoli and cost 10m euro
