AC Milan remain the club who are favourites to land Marseille winger Florian Thauvin ahead of his contract expiring next June.
That is according to Le10Sport, who note how Marseille have Thauvin to thank for not completely sinking at the beginning of the season, given he has amassed three goals and five assists.
Marseille chief Pablo Longoria is actively working on the extension of the 27-year-old, but the discussions will be very complicated because the Ligue 1 club are not in the best position financially while the player’s performances seem to suggest he could go and earn more elsewhere.
Milan are the team who are currently on pole position, but Leicester City and Napoli are also believe to be in the running to land the World Cup winner, and any of those clubs could offer a better salary than Marseille.
The situation is becoming more and more complicated for Longoria, with the added time pressure that Thauvin can agree a pre-contract with another club in two months time.
