Marseille are fighting to keep winger Florian Thauvin despite his inclination to try a new challenge, according to Le10Sport.
The French outlet reports that Marseille director Pablo Longoria wants to keep Thauvin and is desperate not to lose such a key performer on a free transfer. The player has naturally began to look at outside projects like Milan, who have shown a strong interest in signing him.
Despite this, they claim that Thauvin have yet to decide on his future and therefore the hope that he could stay at Marseille remains, with Longoria fighting ‘like hell’ to try and keep him.
However they start from a difficult position, as Thauvin’s entourage are not happy that his renewal has not been considered as a priority despite the player’s performances and his importance.
Economically the difference is substantial too, so if Longoria manages to retain Thauvin this summer, it will be quite simply a miracle.
