There are now widespread reports that nearly everything is agreed and that Leao will put pen to paper after a long negotiation and extend his contract with the Rossoneri until 2028.
This should come as no surprise to avid readers of the site, who will recall our exclusive from a few days ago in which we stated the announcement could arrive before the end of the week.
However, we also reported yesterday that there is still some work to be done and not everything is signed and sealed as other sources have suggested, which has pretty much been confirmed by Ted Dimvula today.
Dimvula – who works as Leao’s lawyer and is a close friend of the family – gave an interview to Footmercato talking about the renewal of his client.
“We are in talks with Milan to renew Rafa’s contract. As in all these situations, the discussions are long and every detail must be taken care of,” he began.
“For Rafael, AC Milan are a club that matters and his ambitions have not changed since he arrived here. He wants to play under the orders of a coach who will be able to use him best, and he wants to play in the Champions League.”
