Rafael Leao’s lawyer Ted Dimvula has released some interesting statements regarding the renewal of his client amid rumours it is almost done.
There are now widespread reports that nearly everything is agreed and that Leao will put pen to paper after a long negotiation and extend his contract with the Rossoneri until 2028.

This should come as no surprise to avid readers of the site, who will recall our exclusive from a few days ago in which we stated the announcement could arrive before the end of the week.
However, we also reported yesterday that there is still some work to be done and not everything is signed and sealed as other sources have suggested, which has pretty much been confirmed by Ted Dimvula today.
Dimvula – who works as Leao’s lawyer and is a close friend of the family – gave an interview to Footmercato talking about the renewal of his client.
“We are in talks with Milan to renew Rafa’s contract. As in all these situations, the discussions are long and every detail must be taken care of,” he began.
“For Rafael, AC Milan are a club that matters and his ambitions have not changed since he arrived here. He wants to play under the orders of a coach who will be able to use him best, and he wants to play in the Champions League.”

I knew it!! Still not clear for the renewal sake..
I was just waiting for this statement…
Not surprised. If you read between the lines there is a bit of a swipe at Pioli too. “He wants to play under the orders of a coach who will be able to use him best…”, directly comments on Pioli’s poor decision to play a 3-5-2 and move Leao into the middle. We can also lay most of the responsibility for failing to finish top 4 with Pioli for all of those dropped points against very beatable sides.
“He wants to play under the orders of a coach who will be able to use him best…”
Good luck with that. I bet he’ll be given the starter LW role with zero pressing/defending demands in Real/PSG/Chelsea/InsertAnyRichClubHere. 😀
Possibly. I’m hanging my hat on the fact that many of the richest/best clubs are already set at LW, and that clubs like Tottenham, who have more means, aren’t an upgrade at the project level. Of those rich clubs, maybe only PSG realistically could use Leao, but I guess that one club could be enough to turn his head. I guess we will have to wait in suspense until the final table…
Fabrizio Romano already said : Here We Go . No need to worry about leao contract. Leao happy to play in 4231 in pioli system . AC Milan still have chance finish top 4 serie A ( only 2 pts below IM ), but for go to final i think are very slim ( not imposible but need miracle )
So much for the “done deal” then.

AC Milan director Paolo Maldini: “We are very close. We agreed also on the final details. It was not easy but we’re set to get it signed”.

EXCLUSIVE — Rafa Leão’s laywer Ted Dimvula tells me: “There are many fake informations on Leão. We are working together to find a satisfactory solution on the new contract”. 🚨🔴⚫️
“Leão’s priority has not changed: he wants to stay at AC Milan”. and continue to grow and progress in this institution and this city that he loves so much.
we therefore firmly deny any desire on the part of rafael and/or his entourage to lower his release clause in order to facilitate a departure of the player next summer.
Rafael is fully focused on the important goals to come with his current club, and wishes, in this difficult period, to be able to work in calm and serenity in order to get back winning.
Doesnt seem like that there is a great reason to worry as i see it.
Agreed @Martin Berhard. Fabrizio Romano just posted another update with a “here we go”:
“Rafael Leão has now signed new long term deal with AC Milan until June 2028, confirmed and here we go! 🚨🔴⚫️ #ACMilan
All documents are finally completed, it will be official soon.
◉ €175m release clause.
◉ €5m net salary per season plus add-ons.
