Amid all of the negative press about Rafael Leao’s current moment, a report has outlined his burning desire to reconnect with the AC Milan fans.
La Gazzetta dello Sport recall how Leao arrived at the stadium smiling before the Napoli game on Tuesday night, most likely as a result of the fact his father Antonio was present. He came to Milan specifically to console his son, even if he saw him start from the bench.

Together with other relatives, Leao’s dad watched the match between the Rossoneri and Napoli, in the hope that the winger would find some peace and make a positive impact. Leao’s family have gathered around him after what has been a far from easy past few weeks.
Moreover, Milan as a club have also never failed to support him, dampening any attempt at building controversy around him. The management are convinced that in the long run the best version of the team is with Leao firing, so they are working alongside Paulo Fonseca to get him back in form.
From Leao’s point of view, the warmth he most wants to rekindle is with the fans. “The coldness of the last few weeks has saddened him. Rafa needs the enthusiasm of the fans but he also knows he has to feed it,” the report ends.

-He never has off-field Issues with police etc.
-He generally is a happy guy.

I was an oft injured player during my small stint in D2 college and the men’s league in my local area. A physician asked me if my teammates get injured as often as I do. I said no. They asked what the difference was. I said “I go after every ball like it’s my last.” Leao would be the best player in the world with that mentality.

SO many are calling for Leao to grow up. No one accepting the possibility that maybe Fonseca is out of his depth to try to bring the depth out of him?
Afterall, Fonseca is a Portuguese Pioli, but unlike his Italian counterpart hasn’t figured out that you have to accept Leao’s limitations and mitigate around them, giving him freedom to improvise up front.
Let’s see how long it takes for Fonsy to figure it out.
