Leggo: Maldini monitoring Barcelona full-back as he eyes another Hernandez-type coup

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s interest in Barcelona defender Junior Firpo has been reported by another source amid strong speculation he is a target.

Milan could count on cover in the left-back position from Diogo Dalot last season when Theo could not play or needed rest, but the Manchester United loanee is set to return to his parent club as no agreement has been reached yet regarding the extension of his loan or indeed a permanent purchase. This has led to strong suggestions that Milan are in the market for a new left sided defender.

Today’s edition of Leggo (via MilanNews) confirms that Milan are back in for Firpo, who would join the Rossoneri to be deputy to Theo Hernandez. At the moment it is likely that the left-back will leave the Blaugrana this summer, with Paolo Maldini studying the situation and hoping to strike a deal just as he did 2 years ago with Real Madrid for Theo.

  1. So pointless focus the budget on what’s actually needed, striker, AM, and RW… not on a backup LB. So far Maldini has done great but all these wrong links this summer have me scared
