L’Equipe: Milan and Inter alerted as Marseille make star man available in cut-price deal

AC Milan and Inter have both been alerted by the news that Marseille are ready to sell star winger Florian Thauvin this summer, a report claims.

Half of Europe were after Thauvin two summers ago he netted 22 times in Ligue 1 in the 2017-18 campaign – second only to Edinson Cavani – before winning the World Cup that summer with France.

This season he has made just two league appearances after undergoing surgery on an ankle issue, and with his contract set to expire in 2021 the Ligue 1 side have found themselves with a dilemma.

According to Sunday’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe (via CalcioMercatoWeb), a market derby is expected between Inter and Milan for Thauvin as both teams have long followed the 27-year-old with interest.

The paper adds that Marseille are in a delicate financial situation and could find themselves having to sell to make cash. For this reason, Thauvin could be available for €20m due to his contractual situation, with both Milan clubs cited as having interest.
