Lille boss on interest in Milan and Spurs linked striker: “There are factors that cannot be controlled”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in a move for Lille striker Victor Osimhen, a report claims, and now their head coach has spoken out about the rumours.

Osimhen only joined Lille last summer as the Ligue 1 side put some of the money they received from Arsenal for Nicolas Pepe towards signing the 20-year-old forward from Wolfsburg.

Since then he has been nothing short of a revelation, scoring 18 goals across all competitions including two in the Champions League group stages.

As a result, he has drawing attention from a number of Premier League suitors – with both Liverpool and Spurs linked this year – and earning acclaim from the Nigeria international side.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been credited with interest, but a report on Calciomercato.com claims that Milan are also in the running to land him. However, the intention of head coach Gerard Lopez is for him to stay another year at least.

“Our desire is to have him with us also in the next season. There are factors that cannot be controlled, such as the fact that a large club can present itself with a salary offer six times higher than it is today. But sometimes it may be better to wait,” he said.
