Lille forward Yazici admits he ‘can’t remain indifferent’ to links with Milan move

Lille attacker Yusuf Yazici has admitted that he can’t ignore the links between himself and AC Milan as the opportunity to follow Paulo Fonseca arises.

Speaking to French website sofoot.com (via Milan News), Yazici was asked about his relationship with Fonseca and the reported interest in him from Milan.

The Turkish forward is very versatile and would be able to help Milan in a number of ways, having played as an attacking midfielder in the middle and on the right this season, as well as a striker.

He has played 27 times in Ligue 1 for Fonseca’s Lille this season, scoring five goals and getting two assists. He got five goals in the UEFA Conference League and two in the Coupe de France.

Yazici was on loan last season in Turkey but did not settle, and the assumption was that he would leave Lille. Yazici revealed how Fonseca gave him another chance to prove himself and it proved to be the right decision from the coach.

“After my failed loan at Trabzonspor last season, it was normal for the fans to expect a departure. At the beginning of the year I went to Fonseca to tell him that I wanted to demonstrate who I was again and that I could help the team. He trusted me and asked me to work. I like him a lot, I learned a lot of things from him. I love his sincerity and his closeness to the players,” Yazici said.

Yazici is going to be out of contract this summer and Milan are interested in making a free move for him, and the player knows that he can’t ignore interest from a club like Milan.

“My contract will expire soon, I still don’t know what the future holds for me because I feel good at Lille. It’s nice to see that many important clubs are interested in me, but above all I want to focus on the European Championship. I still have many dreams in football. Of course, you can’t remain indifferent to clubs like Milan. I still remember Ronaldinho, Beckham… We’ll see what the future holds for me,” he said.

  1. With all respect, who? Complete journeyman, about 10 notches down from Giroud’s level. Milan need to buy proven quality.
