Matteo Moretto has put forward a new name that AC Milan are evaluating to strengthen their attack: Darwin Nunez of Liverpool.
Milan have some doubts in the striker role heading into 2025-26. Luka Jovic is on an expiring contract, while Tammy Abraham’s loan has run out, and there is talk that Francesco Camarda may depart on loan to play more regularly.

Late last night, Sky reported that Mateo Retegui of Atalanta is a name that Milan are looking at, with contacts even having taken place. They stated that Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus ‘remains in the background’ as another option.

Matteo Moretto spoke on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel and in a segment dedicated to the future of Milan’s attack, he focused on some of the potential targets.
“Lucca will be an important name. He did very well with Udinese and will be a player we will talk about. I’ll give you a new name: Milan are looking for a striker and a name that is in Allegri’s head is Dusan Vlahovic, but Darwin Nunez has also been explored,” he said (via MilanNews).
“We know that there are high costs, many things will need to be understood, but to date he has been explored. Milan is looking for a high-level striker and Darwin is on Milan’s list.
“The club, in the meantime, continues to reiterate to Leao and his entourage that he is not for sale, unless there are irrefutable offers of at least 90 million euros; the Bayern Munich trail is quite cold.”
As per Transfermarkt, the Reds paid €85m to sign Nunez from Benfica so it would likely require a significant outlay to bring him to Italy.

I think they need a Lukaku profile, especially with the counterattacking calcio Allegri will try to play. Someone who plays well with his back to goal allowing wingers to attack. Gimenez is not that profile.
I would totally bet on Nunez at the right conditions, like a loan with option to buy or a deal in the 35-40 range. He is physically a beast and he can play with Gimenez or replace Gimenez. I think he is a superior player to Gimenez and he can easily score 20 goals in Serie A.
We can definitely use Nunez on all sphere of the attack and Dude doesn’t get injured easily, plus he has the acclaimed pace asset of Leao.
