Loftus-Cheek positive after Fonseca’s introduction: “Everyone is excited”

There is a lot of positivity around AC Milan, and a lot of that is down to the work Paulo Fonseca has done with the squad and the results that he has already brought.

After the end of the Stefano Pioli era, many questioned if appointing Fonseca as his replacement was a step sideways, let alone a step forward, and whilst we are yet to see the team in a competitive fixture, the first impressions are good.

From three friendlies, Milan are unbeaten, and whilst you can question the quality of their opponents, you cannot question the identity of the squad. For those who want to look past friendlies, the reports from Milanello are fantastic, and today, there has been another report of things inside training.

Speaking to Milan TV, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has spoken about the start to life for Fonseca, whilst also commenting on the arrival of Alvaro Morata and his comments have been relayed by Milan News.

On Paulo Fonseca…
“We are very enthusiastic. We’ve been working on the pitch with the new coach and the training sessions are intense. They’re tough and it’s good because the coach expects a lot from us and puts the right concentration in us. He tries to convey his ideas well by encouraging us to ask him questions so that we understand him well and assimilate all his concepts as quickly as possible.

“Our first impressions of the coach are good, he seems a very humble and easygoing person, which is always nice. It’s good that everyone is ready to participate. I think everyone is excited about the new season. I think the most important thing in the pre-season is to work and try to implement as much as possible what the coach wants on and off the pitch, keeping us as fit as possible so we are ready for the new season.”

Finding Morata at AC Milan after being his partner at Chelsea…
“Morata is a top player and, of course, has won many things in his career, so having a partner of that calibre and with that experience in the team can only help us. I am excited to see him again and to share the pitch with him again.

“He is a very kind and helpful person who works hard in training and you should not be surprised by the trophies he has won, because that is the right formula when you are a professional and take your job seriously with a desire to win,” he stated.

“His achievements should come as no surprise and now that he is captain of his national team perhaps he has that leadership role that will allow him to bring a lot of communication and guidance to the team, which will be crucial for us. So that is what I am looking forward to most: playing with him and seeing him take an important role in the team.”

    1. Me too for some weird reason.. Maybe it’s cause every year I refresh my mind but Im liking it so far. I hope this doesn’t crush me in a couple of months

  1. I wish Fonseca can place this players in to their best positions. RLC as CM, and pulisic as CAM. The only confusing one is okafor, as he has great potency, wish fonseca can bring him in to new great level.

  2. According to everyone we are going to win the treble…ok! It’s because we beat a youth Man city and real Madrid in a practice match and now everyone is excited. So according to most fans Fonseca is a better coach the Pep and Ancelotti.
So we have Fonseca a yes man for management who is a Pioli 2.0.
Does anyone not think coaches in the Serie a will figure out his style of play within 2 games?
