Injury issues have once again plagued Ruben Loftus-Cheek this season and he has been sidelined for some time, but a return date has now been set.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, Loftus-Cheek has been out since the beginning of January, after participating in the final minutes of the 3-2 victory over Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana which re-aggravated a problem.
Conceiçao confirmed this in his pre-match press conference before the Cagliari game, stating: “There’s a small problem with Ruben, he won’t be there for the match tomorrow. He had a relapse yesterday, I’m sorry because he was growing physically.”
The Englishman is working at Milanello and is aiming to be available again for the league match against Verona on February 15. He will therefore miss the away games against Empoli in Serie A and Rotterdam in the Champions League against Feyenoord.
Given that Conceicao likes his team to be aggressive and direct, Loftus-Cheek is one of the players that could be a good fit under him on paper but so far he has been able to showcase his qualities.
Since joining Milan he has suffered five different injuries with his adductor being three of them, plus a hamstring issue and fatigue, for a combined 23 games missed.
Hope he can score some goals and get some interest from PL.
You know your bad when freaking MUSAH has more g/a than you. But I hope he does well and returns to the premier league
I’m not saying either are especially great or worthwhile keeping for us but what the hell are you yapping about here ?
Loftus Cheek has a combined 61 matches for us since joining Milan and 10 goals 3 assists
Musah 70 combined matches 0 goals 4 assists
Sure Musah has a bit better stats this season but he has also played roughly 450 minutes more than cheek.
goals aren’t everything… by pure stats Emerson was best defensive RB in the league… him losing possession, no pace to chase and many more issues caused the management to ship him to Galatasaray (until his ex-teammate Gil didn’t tackle him for no reason…)
RLC 10 goals look nice, but he let’s the same amount go in our goal due to his low level skills in anything other than N8 role, where he plays it more like a rugby player than a footballer…
Sure stats definitely isn’t everything but i replied to this “You know your bad when freaking MUSAH has more g/a than you” hence my reply as it was downright wrong and by some lengths.
i meant musah was more impactful during this season and i dont like the both of them. If your not gonna score goals at least do the running and the dirty work especially if your a midfielder
Well to be fair both have always been crap
Musah is like Saladmaker, all dribble and no end product.
hahaha omg this is soo true. I cannot unsee it now! He’s 22, he still has some time to get it together. I forgot about the saladman… good days
RLC out and Ricci in is long overdue…
Hope we can also get Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese this summer… Santi, Lucca, Felix, Camarda and maybe Tammy for depth is the attack everyone wants to see
A lot. Should be loaned out or sold next year
Good news, we really need the options and he might work well in a three man midfield – if we get through against Feyenoord we’ll definitely need him in the second half of the season
The thing about Ruben is he isn’t good defensively, he can carry the ball but without the ball he is very poor. He can’t read the game very well.
He had one decent season under Pioli but outside of that his transfer has been a massive let down. I’m surprised if he stays past the summer.
Yesssssssssss
I’ve been waiting for him. him and Szoboszlai are similar. If you watch liverpool closely off the ball they play 424, guess what Conceicao plays that way
I have zero confidence that he will last more than 3 games without reinjury when/if he gets back to the match day squad.
Had high hopes for him to be reborn under Conceicao.
