Longari: Milan ahead of Inter and other competitors in race for €12m teenager

By Oliver Fisher -

While AC Milan and Inter battle to be the first to get a second star on the field, the managements of the two clubs have both set their sights on the same transfer target: Assan Ouédraogo.

According to Gianluigi Longari of Sportitalia (via Radio Rossonera), Ouédraogo of Schalke 04 is a midfield talent that has attracted the interest of not only Milan and Inter, but several big European clubs.

He states that the Nerazzuri are very active on the Ouédraogo front even if pole position belongs to Milan because they have been in talks for several weeks had already established fruitful contacts with the entourage of the 17-year-old.

The significant development concerns the presence of a release clause worth around €12m in his current contract which, if paid, would free the teenager from any contractual ties with his club, leaving the decision down to Ouédraogo and his father who represents him.

There is competition from abroad but the two Milanese teams believe, for valid reasons on both fronts, that they have got ahead of the foreign competition.

The feeling is that the closing of the negotiation could be reached by the end of the current month, with the transfer then becoming effective starting next season.

    1. I agree he seems to be a huge talent so 12 mil is already a great bargain to begin with so no need to haggle for a lower price, just get it done.
