Longoni says attacking midfielder could be the ‘defining signing’ for Amorim’s Milan

AC Milan have two signings so far, but as highlighted by Andrea Longoni in his latest editorial, they need more than that. Especially if they want to be a Ruben Amorim side.

With the arrivals of Mario Gila and Goncalo Ramos, Milan have certainly bolstered the team a whole lot. Both will be starters this upcoming season and should add a lot of quality to the side, but there is more work to be done.

In his latest editorial for MilanNews, Longoni shared his thoughts on the mercato so far. He made sure to highlight that four more signings are needed, from defence to attack. One of them, however, could be a little bit more defining from Amorim’s point of view.

“There’s a lot to do this summer. With the excellent Gila now included, another centre-back will be crucial. This is by no means disrespect to Gabbia, a player who will be a valuable asset this season as well. He’s also one of the few Italians in the squad.

“In midfield, a starter is missing alongside Rabiot. Modric will need to be managed, and Jashari remains a huge unknown quantity. The Swiss player failed this season, partly due to injury, but he returned in November and hasn’t shown anything.

“It’s right to keep Jashari in the squad to rejuvenate him, but he can’t be considered a key player in the starting eleven right now.

“Then there’s the winger and the attacking midfielder. The latter, in particular, could be the defining signing that will provide a clear and distinct image of what, once fully operational, will be Amorim’s Milan,” he wrote.

The next few weeks should make things clearer, especially since Milan also need to start working more on sales. After all, they won’t be able to make the signings highlighted by Longoni if they don’t wave goodbye to a few players first.

      1. Assan played as CAM in Schalke.
Also They will be no wingers in the lineup where u think Amorim will put Chukwueze?
All of these players will play a hybrid between winger and CAM they will have freedom to go for long balls but also dribble past the defenders.
They can all fit in the lineup but I can say idk about Amorim High pressure football

  2. You can as well go to Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Thailand, Bangladesh, Pakistan and more to bring in their football players…
Some people just come up with names without identities….nonsense.

    1. You can’t name one player as your preference do ya?
      Just follow the rumours
      Paulinha Doué Van Dijk etc.
      Sheep

  3. Then there’s the WING-BACK and the attacking midfielder, then there ARE THE 2 WING-BACKS
and the attacking midfielder. We need four (or
five) more signings for the starting lineup and
two or three more signings for depth/rotation.

    1. What we do NEED is to Amorim tell who is staying who’s not so we gonna wait after pre season matches to see who leaves and who’s stays.
We don’t need to rush things and I don’t believe Italian Media until we know for a fact who’s staying.
We don’t know who leaves. I’m hoping they find the sales sooner bf the season starts.

      1. We don’t know that exactly but we can or we could predict that with a strong degree of probability and certainty. RLC and Leao are the first to go, they will be followed by Estupinan, Tomori and Terracciano, Bondo, Bennacer, hopefully Ricci as well, sadly (for me, at least) Fofana will join them too, maybe even Saelemaekers or Athekame. What will happen with Musah and Chukwueze (and Gimenez) remains to be seen.

        1. Ricci will not leave.
Why u hate him so much?
          Why u hate Italians?
There’s no rumour for a Midfielder and Ederson supposedly enquiry is fake.
He’s not leaving or Jashari sadly for you.

          1. We shall see. I don’t hate him. I adore Italians, as a matter of fact, I am completely blind when in comes to nationality; Ricci is the only Italian
I would CONSIDER selling. You don’t know that.

  4. Ederson to ManUtd is stalling. They might go for Manu Kone instead. Either player would be a very solid addition for Milan as they would slot in with Rabiot in the double pivot and would provide instant quality, because they are league ready.

I’d love either one at Milan.
