SM: Maldini opens talks with Lecce – four young talents to be discussed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are expected to open talks with Lecce over four different players including loan deals and two talents, according to what we have learned.

As SempreMilan.it have told us, Milan have no intention of exclusively signing big names on expensive deals and CEO Ivan Gazidis is an advocate of fishing for little-known talents who can be developed into top players, like Pierre Kalulu.

For this reason, the Rossoneri are also probing the Serie B market, looking for valid players to reinforce Stefano Pioli’s squad. The arrivals of Bennacer and Krunic (when Empoli were relegated) and Messias are examples under Elliott.

Dialogue with Lecce open

In this sense, Paolo Maldini has opened talks with Lecce to set up operations. Alessandro Plizzari is on loan with and could be sold permanently because the goalkeeper would like to play continuously and Donnarumma’s farewell did not change things at Milan. Maignan is the undisputed starter, so for Plizzari a permanent move there is increasingly likely.

Three more ideas

In addition to the Plizzari operation, Milan would also like to loan Marko Lazetic to the Salento side without an option to buy. In exchange, Maldini could invest in two talents who are very impressive: Pablo Rodriguez (a 20-year-old striker) and Morten Hjulmand (a 22-year-old central midfielder.

Lecce want a definitive sale to earn some money, but Milan could start by offering a loan for the duo with an obligation to buy upon the achievement of certain conditions.
