Longo: Management likely to remain under new owners as continuity is sought

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are getting closer and closer to welcoming new ownership as Investcorp should soon clinch a deal to buy the club from Elliott Management.

According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Investcorp and Elliott should sign the documents at the end of the week to signify the transfer of majority shares from the American fund to the Bahrain-based one.

For the official closing of the deal though it is likely we will have to wait until the end of the season in order to keep stability during what is a crucial phase of the season on the field where minimum distraction is needed.

The deal will be worth €1.1bn and what filters from sources close to the operation is that there is the ‘firm intention’ to continue with the current management given that the club’s current path is what made them so attractive in the first place. Paolo Maldini, Ricky Massara and Geoffrey Moncada should therefore remain.
