Today, AC Milan prepared to release their second consecutive profitable year, but fans are less bothered about these sheets and more focused on results.
Things are Milan are quite negative currently. At present, the biggest fan groups are all united in their feelings towards the club, and the general fanbase also echoes these sentiments. Generally, there is discontent towards the management of the club, and for one defining reason.
In recent years, there has been a heavy focus on running the club in a sustainable method, as opposed to focusing on being competitive in the league, and fans are fed up with this method of operating. For a club like the Rossoneri, expectations are to compete at the top end of the league, and failing to do so is not made better by profitability.
For this reason, Pietro Mazzara writes that without on-field success, there are no commercial successes. Ultimately it looks to many that a competitive edge is not sought due to a lack of ambition, all for the sake of publishing accounts. However, if the Diavolo realise they are in ‘a constant fight for the top four’ rather than anything more, then perhaps, change could be in store, so January is vital.

Please chukwueze is not for sale at all at all rather let’s add Chiesa to the squad as well
For 200 millions they should do a helluva lot better than what they have today, which is Pulisic for 10% of that amount and a bunch of bench extensions and deadwood. And on top of it, half of them don’t even fit the system they play.
Who’s your “favourite” flop?
I’m leaning towards Muash.
He definitely needs to deliver more on his “promise” otherwise it would be hard to keep beyond this season.
Overall I would say Pellegrino. Didn’t even play a full game, got injured and no one seems to want him now. To think he costed us 3,5M€. Luka Romero is a close second but he was free.
If go by flop relative to value, I’d say Musah or Chukwueze given that they costed us 20M€ and 30M€.
This is season, the flop hands down in Loftus-Cheek.
lazetić cost us more and done nothing anywhere.
Origi was free but if we dont get rid of him he’s gonna cost us 15M by 2026.
I only meant the transfers since 2023 under RedBird. Otherwise Bakayoko, Origi, Lazetic, Dest, Mandzukic, Ballo-Touré and even CDK (despite being a good player) are also strong contenders for biggest flop,
Not sure how you define ‘flop’ given some of the players mentioned never played so hardly had a chance to play, and others were played out of position or rarely.
As for RLC he was our second best signing last season based on his goals and impact, but this season like most of the squad has struggled.
It’s clear that under Fonseca few players are reaching their potential. If we can’t improve soon then Fonseca needs to go and we need to find a manager who can get more out of these players rather than doing another reset.
If we are to sign a player in January then we need to sign a midfield general type player. Someone to plug the hole in midfield, lead the team, protect the defence, move the ball quickly in the middle, link the attack and get the players around them to raise their game.
A midfield version of Kjaer or Ibra.
Shush
RLC is a donkey, can’t blame the coach for that!
@ SJF
Please stop insulting the players in the team I support.
Nobody is forcing you to support this team.
Emerson, Musah, Chuk, RLC.
In this order.
Incredible list Ted. I’d say Musah first because we’ve seen him alot enough to know what he can do. Emerson is tricky, terrible defensively esp positioning but he can send in a good cross. I’ll wait a little more on him. Chuk seems ok enough in Europe but he’s way too expensive for what we’re seeing now from him. There’s a dash of hope there. RLC is 😐.
My pick would be Musah, RLC/Chuk, Emerson
Nothing like hating on a 20 year old that hasn’t been given a consistent chance and has been bounced around position to position. Another awful take on your end.
Blow me
Lil bro stfu
You seem to get more enjoyment from insulting players and fellow fans than actually supporting the team.
What a bizarre hobby.
Nah. I enjoy insulting stupid people. Ain’t my fault the world is full of you…
True. Both our transfer windows were “unfocused”. We did have money but instead of going for quality players we went for average players because they were cheaper and would probably ask for less salary.
Honestly I think what we should’ve done in summer 2023 (I know I post this often but I like to emphasize how bad our scouting is) with the 120M€ we had is: Pulisic (20M€), Koopmeiners (valued around 30M€ that summer), Hjulmand (sold for 19,5M€), Ricci (valued around 20M€ that summer), Orsolini (valued around 12M€), Scammaca (sold for 25M€ that summer) and Calafiori (sold for 24M€ that summer) perhaps selling Pobega or Krunic to complete some of those.
This summer aside from Morata (13M€) we should have got Hummels for free, renewed to Simic, got Hojbjerg (sold for 14M€ !) and Ricci or Prati, kept Kalulu and Adli, sold Bennacer and used the rest of the money for a left back and another striker.
But that’s just my take on it.
Agreed about the lack of focus.
And that for me is even more damaging than the quality of the players we signed.
If, say, we had only signed 1 v 3 mid or 1 v RWs last summer then that 1 would have had a better chance than the 3.
For example:
one of Musah, Reijnders or RLC might have performed at a higher level if they had been signed to play alongside an established midfield of Tonali, Bennacer and Krunic.
had we just signed Pulisic and kept Saelemaekers, then Pulisic could’ve lifted the quality on the right and then we’d have had Saelemaekers as back up.
We never gave the players we signed a chance because we signed too many and they arrived to a disrupted squad.
“no longer interested” would imply that fans were interested in that. I guess after the Li era sure. But we’ve been out of that conundrum for quite some time now
The fans are absolutely obsessed with money.
It goes:
– money
– transfer market
– the sport.
Fans seem to treat modern football as some terrible game of Monopoly or something.
They’re obsessed with ‘capital gains’, side with mercenary players/agents over the club as is the case with Donnarumma and Kessie, are constantly praying for the fascist Saudi regime to use the club to sportswash their brutal image so that we can turn into Man City (or Newcastle…).
Its not about profit or loss or spending any crazy number, its about being considered and planning.
The person who decided to sign Emerson and push Kalulu out, should be fired. I don’t know who that was. But that’s the smoking gun.
Address that and we may have a future, don’t and we will be in Serie B.
we wount be in serie b, but we do need a good or very good sporting director. we don’t have a real one now.
I have worked with American companies for a long time. Their business model is almost similar, sustainability. They will pursue profit first, prioritizing financial stability. This model is difficult to apply in today’s sports world. Moreover, American companies are generally good at packaging a product, including being good at packaging the entertainment side. especially investment companies. profit is the priority. even though they don’t get any title, but a big name, can be sold. which will increase the value of their company in the eyes of investors.
