Mediaset: Krunic can leave for €5m with three possible replacements highlighted

By Oliver Fisher -

Fenerbahce have raised their offer for Rade Krunic but must do so again if they are to agree a fee with AC Milan, a report claims, while various potential replacements are being studied.

Claudio Raimondi, speaking on SportMediaset (via MilanNews), gave an update regarding Milan’s next moves in the mercato after the signing of Filippo Terracciano from Hellas Verona on a deal until 2028.

Stefano Pioli wants another central defender following the return of Matteo Gabbia and the main name is that of Lilian Brassier, though Monaco are also interest. The alternative is PSG’s Nordi Mukiele, who Bayern Munich have also been linked with.

On the other hand, Krunic is leaving and Fenerbahçe have slightly raised their bid from €4m to €4.5m, but it’s still not enough. However, the feeling is that at €5m the operation can be closed, especially given that replacements are being considered.

There are several profiles under observation and one of these is Guido Rodriguez of Real Betis, an Argentine midfielder who also has an Italian passport but recently suffered an injury.

The other names include Lucas Torreira of Galatasaray and Samuele Ricci of Torino, though the latter would likely have quite a high asking price given his talent.

  1. No to Rodriguez. No upside there. And is injured. Torreira… didn’t that player reject us in the past? No thanks. Ricci might be the only one on that list I think we should go for. Torino won’t let him go for cheap though at all.

    1. I haven’t watched Ricci play, but I watched a few compilations and I have to admit that I wasn’t impressed at all. I look at his stats on fbref and they aren’t impressive either. From what I’ve seen, he doesn’t impress me at all, but what do you think?

  2. There’s nothing to replace. It’s not like we are losing a key player. Wasting 5-10m on a Kruniesque kind of player as all the aforementioned is just a silly move. Better to save that money for the summer and bring on a decent player.

I’m sure there are at least 6 guys on the Primavera side who can cover Krunic without breaking a sweat.

  3. Would save the money to get the top #9 we need next season. Plenty of options with Musah, Tiji and Adli there and now even Terraciano.

  4. Looks like we need a new ‘balancer’ (LOL)

So Pioli (not me) once said about Krunic that he was one of his most important players, that he made those who play near him play well, that he was smart, and that he was smart and occupied spaces properly, with and without the ball.

This was at a time when Milan had a midfield of Kessie, Bennacer and Tonali.

Whatever your views on Krunic these were Pioli’s stated views a few seasons ago.

Now how does a player go from that to being forced out midseason and replaced with some randomer?

    What is happening here?

One of many, many questionable transfers over the years.

    1. May try and answer some of your questions?

I believe that Milan did have a midfield with Jessie Bennacer and Tonelli but could not compete with the rest of Europe.
Krunic is not what Milan need to Challenge in Europe this remaining months especially with maestro Pioli at the helm still!
What is happening is that Milan MGMNT is trying to salvage
Pioli from taking Milan down with him
I have a question for you please, “What happens if Pioli’s Milan lose to Atalanta in Copa Italy????

      1. “Krunic is not what Milan need to Challenge in Europe”???

Krunic started every game in Milan’s actual run to the actual semi-finals of the actual Champions League a few months ago.

        Again – Facts v Opinions.

What is happening is Milan management seem to be once again unsolving problems.

What happens if Milan lose to Atalanta?

Well we’re sitting comfortably in third and the players are fully behind Pioli.

        So not much.

        1. This dude is okay with being eliminated from CL and Coppa, wow, some fan. As you tell everyone, go root for someone else!

Also, Krunic is garbage that’s why he’s gone.
