Mediaset: Milan making contact to sign Udinese midfielder in the summer

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have started engineering a move for Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic, with the aim of bringing him to the club in the summer.

According to a report from Sport Mediaset’s Claudio Raimondi (via Milan News), the Rossoneri are serious about bringing Samardzic to the club in the summer and are starting the process early.

The 21-year-old Serbian is one of the best young midfielders in Serie A and seems destined to leave Udinese in the summer as he is ready for a greater challenge.

Milan do not need to sign a midfielder in January, and they are focused on bringing in a central defender.

Samardzic has got three goals and two assists in Serie A so far this season, which is impressive from midfield in a team that is not brimming with goals.

He scored in Milan’s 3-2 win over Udinese on Saturday night and he has really impressed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Geoffrey Moncada.

There may be a lot of competition for such a good player, but there may be an opportunity for Milan. Napoli are put off by the potential price, whilst Atalanta are focused on signing Charles De Ketelaere permanently from Milan.

Juventus seem to have turned their attention to Teun Koopmeiners and Ederson from Atalanta, so it may just be Inter and Milan fighting for Samardzic.

  1. He would be a great signing if Milan plays with a #10. Don’t really like him as a mezzala. He doesn’t do much defensively.
But, his agents/father will be tough to deal with

  2. Let’s sign him is the kind of player Acmilan needs for the attacking midfield in our 4-2-3-1 very strong intelligent, smart and too good

  3. I don’t think Inter wants to sign him anymore. Last summer the deal collapse when it was close to finalized.
    Just like Popovic Join Napoli.

    1. I agree, between him and Teun, I’d rather get the Dutchman. But Zamardzic is preety good for how young he is, and his ceiling is a lot higher than Teun’s… I’d love this guy as an alternative to RLC.

  4. We were linked with him in the summer and didn’t go for him. And then the whole business with inter lol. I’d rather we get someone more defensive.

  5. This would be a great signing. And I wouldn’t be surprised to see us sell Benny to a Saudi Arabian team in summer. They want him badly in that league and I’m sure will make a huge offer to him. If Adli keeps on progressing I can see this playing out.
