Mediaset: Milan cool interest in Sevilla defender and Brassier move hits stumbling block

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are increasingly hopeful of signing Torino defender Alessandro Buongiorno as their other targets for a new defender are proving tough to acquire.

As has been reported by Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), two of the lesser targets that Milan have on their list are unlikely to arrive at Milanello in January.

One of them is Sevilla defender Tanguy Nianzou, who has not enjoyed a good season and would be available on a short-term loan deal if Milan tried to make it happen.

The issue is that his poor 2023/24 season has been down to the number of injuries he has sustained. Milan are concerned that should they sign the Frenchman, they will just have another injured defender on their hands.

That could open the door for Stade Brest’s Lilian Brassier instead, but his club are not keen on letting Milan take the player on a loan deal.

It seems that Milan are not interested enough in Brassier to pay for a permanent deal this month, but that might be what it takes to bring the Frenchman in.

If the Rossoneri cannot get their deal for Buongiorno done, they could be left with no choice but to pay up for Brassier and hope that he proves to be value for money.

  1. Whenever i read about milan and the club’s senseless and stupid approach regarding new players, i feel like throwing up. We chase every single player for 3 or 4 months and then back off. How sick!!!
