Mediaset: Milinkovic-Savic happy to join Milan, Inter or Juve as all three show interest

By Oliver Fisher -

Italy’s three biggest clubs AC Milan, Inter and Juventus all want to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio and the player would be happy to join any of them.

According to what is being reported by SportMediaset (via TheMilanZone), Milinkovic-Savic is expected to leave Lazio this summer given he has a deal which expires in June 2024 and he could stay in Serie A.

Both Milanese clubs want to sign him to bolster their midfield ranks, while Stefano Pioli and Simone Inzaghi have already coached him before at Lazio. Milinkovic-Savic would gladly accept a move to any of the three clubs.

The Serbia international amassed nine goals and eight assists for Lazio in Serie A last season and he could be the ideal attacking midfielder for Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 system.

Charles De Ketelaere is yet to convince since his arrival while Brahim Diaz has gone back to Real Madrid, meaning interventions are required to fix a crucial role in the formation.

  1. “he could be the ideal attacking midfielder for Pioli’s 4-2-3-1 system.”

I’d replace the “could” with “would” as he’d be a guaranteed success. You cannot say the same about anyone joining from other leagues (e.g. Kamada) or smaller teams (e.g. Baldanzi, Samardzic).

    1. Absolutely! Considering the reported price tag and our desperate need for a midfielder, he’s a no brainer. We need as many playmakers as possible to counter the low blocks in Serie A.

    2. Smart comment. I don’t understand why there isn’t an all out war on Sergej. I hope he turns around and stays.

  2. Rather have him on our side then playing against him, always a thorn in our side…not going to happen with the tight wad Cardinale.

  3. Ideal signing tho his pay is a bit high.
Worth it tho if one is serious about being competitive.
I dont see it happening to be honest

  4. It would be great to have him. But other than that, we could reflect his gameplay from previous match like couple months ago when we beat Lazio and Theo beat SMS by doing solo run.

    1. Cardinale’s PR guys? Aren’t they behind every Milan-related story anyways? At least if you believe everything they wrote in the comment sections. 🙂

  5. Great Player! There would be some hard convincing to do to fork out money for him though. Would likely fall outside of Redbird parameters. Although Furlani could make it happen.

  6. This could be a very potent attack:

    ———————Thuram———————–

    Leao—————-SMS———Chuckwese

  7. If they sign SMS then we will all be convinced that they care about winning trophies too, he is the ideal no10 for pioli’s system, sign SMS, keep all the stars, then milan fans will believe again

  8. AC Milan cannot pay that 40m euro SMS . Gery make rule max 30m euro for one player to avoid huge loss like CDK . I think there is no way lotito want only 30m euro for his prized gems even contract just left 1 years. It is better AC Milan focus on kamada for AMF & hjolmand for DMF also samuel chukwu for RW , that 3 player ( kamada signing fee for agent include) have equal price with one SMS .
