Stuttgart's Guinean forward #09 Serhou Guirassy

Mediaset: Moncada watches Guirassy up close but alternative is identified

AC Milan have been looking for a reliable centre-forward for a couple of seasons now and the search is continuing given that Luka Jovic is yet to provide any answers.

According to SportMediaset, Serhou Guirassy is a profile that Geoffrey Moncada continues to watch closely, given the excellent start to the season he has had in Germany. The 27-year-old scored the winner in Stuttgart’s victory against Dortmund at the weekend, taking his tally to 15 goals in nine appearances.

In the second half of 2023 the former Rennes centre-forward – who has been at Stuttgart for a couple of seasons – is experiencing a magical moment in front of goal. His record means that he is a profile that is also being followed by Inter and various clubs around Europe.

In 2022-23 Stuttgart were fighting not to be relegated to the Bundesliga and Guirassy seemed to be having a rather prolific season but needed to back it up. Now, with numbers like Harry Kane, Roberto Lewandowski and Erling Haaland, Stuttgart’s desire to raise as much cash as possible is evident and the €20m release clause becomes the only way to begin a negotiation.

Moncada was present in the stands in Stuttgart’s 2-1 win over Dortmund, probably also to closely study the next opponents in the Champions League in a crucial contest at San Siro, but it remains to be seen if Guirassy could arrive in January.

The alternative seems to be Montpellier’s Akor Adams, a 23-year-old striker who has seven goals in 11 appearances in Ligue 1.

  1. I watched Adams once, the guy was constantly in the offside so his team mates couldnt pass to him, they were mad at him, even i got angry just watching it, but maybe it was just a one bad match…

    1. I don’t know how good he is, but I have seen quite a hype about him. But man they just hype every upcoming Nigerian striker because they are on an exponential rise currently.
I would go with Pavlidis to be honest.

  2. Guirassy is the best option at the moment. Good striker with a 17m buyout clause and only 27yrs old. Good with both feet, in the air and as a lone striker and he is on form.

    1. Yeah i agree Guirassy absolutely seems like the best option considering how lethal he has proved to be and the release clause is ridiculously low as he could propaby be sold for 40-50 mil instead had it not been included. Even if he didnt become a success for us we should be able to sell him for an improven fee if we decided to move him on.

  3. Yawn, more unproven imports, no thanks, got enough of them already, got near on a whole fxcking team of them already.

Here is a novel idea, how about get someone with serie A experience ??!! That might actually help us out

    1. Giroud had no serie a exp and he slot in just fine.. so did thuram at shinter 4 example. Osi at napoli.. Abraham at rome, his first season. Tomori for Milan, first season..

I could go on and on.

  4. Jovic is not a striker to me I prefer Pioli should just teach him on how to play as a winger like he should just be supporting with passes is better Noah Okafor should play as centre forward because he can cause problems and score goals but jovic will be a waste there

    1. With all due respect Kelechi, the biggest let down of jovic isnt even that he hasnt scored yet but his lethargic attitude and lack of fighting spirit and you want us to field him as a winger come on it has disaster written all over it and you need a wake up call.

  5. I don’t know..
He was pretty much anonymous until 27…
Seems a bit risky to buy based on 9 games…
I’d stick to sesko, pavlidis etc

  6. Should guissary is good let’s sign him at least but we need to sign leao deputy while Noah Okafor will be a centre forward or play free role either right, left, centre forward Pioli should be calm and evaluate things easily
