Mediaset: Pioli considers rotation against Genoa – Conti and Calhanoglu could miss out

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli could rest some players for Sunday’s game against Genoa in view of the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Juventus.

That is according to SportMediaset (via MilanNews), who claim that Pioli is wary that his players have been struggling for fitness towards then end of games, with leads surrendered against Inter, Juventus (in the cup) and Fiorentina in recent weeks.

As a result, the Rossoneri boss could allow some regular starters to catch a breath in view of the semi-final second leg in Turin next week, with Hakan Calhanoglu and Davide Calabria mentioned in particular as those who could be left out.

In addition, the same outlet adds that Gianluigi Donnarumma will miss Milan-Genoa as his ankle sprain has not yet fully recovered, and therefore on Sunday against the Rossoblu it will be up to Asmir Begovic.

The Milan medical staff do not want to take any risks, also because his presence on Wednesday against Juve becomes fundamental given that Ibrahimovic, Castillejo and Hernandez will all be suspended.
