Messaggero: What Massara told Roma director regarding his demands for Zaniolo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have gone cold on the idea of signing Nicolo Zaniolo with Roma sticking to their high asking price, according to a report.

Il Messaggero (via MilanNews) confirm that Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara met with Roma’s Tiago Pinto. However, the hypothesis seems to have quickly faded because the Giallorossi are asking for €60m in cash (with no counterparts).

Milan and Juventus had the player on their wish list but during the meeting yesterday with Pinto, Massara clearly told him that the operation at those figures is unsustainable and the talks could not go any further.

The meeting between Pinto and Zaniolo’s agent Vigorelli seems to have ended the idea of a sale but the capital club are postponing the renewal negotiations to September. Juventus and Milan have now gone cold on the idea of signing the Italy international as they simply cannot afford such a high fee.
