Messias has six months left to convince Milan – the figures of his loan move

Ahead of the season, Junior Messias joined AC Milan on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The move came as a surprise to many and despite some injury struggles, the Brazilian has impressed thus far.

In ten appearances for the club (four from start), he has managed to find the back of the net three times. One came against Atletico Madrid, the goal that kept Milan alive in the UCL, and the other two were scored against Genoa.

It hasn’t been perfect six months for the 30-year-old, though, who missed 13 games due to injuries. He will be hoping to stay fit for the remainder of the season as he needs to impress the Rossoneri management.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara agreed on a €2.5m loan and an option of €5.5m to bring Messias to the club (via Corriere Dello Sport). It wouldn’t take a huge investment to keep him and, therefore, his chances of getting redeemed are quite high.

Having said that, the three goals he has now probably won’t be enough to earn himself a stay at the club.
