Metro: Milan launch ‘informal’ opening bid of €14m to try land Man Utd wide man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have made their opening offer to Manchester United for full-back Diogo Dalot, according to a report.

Dalot joined the Rossoneri back in the last summer transfer window on a season-long loan with no option or obligation to buy included, meaning Milan will have to negotiate should they wish to keep him beyond June.

According to Metro, United have opened talks with Milan over a permanent deal for the 22-year-old, and an ‘informal’ offer of £12m (€14m) has been launched by the Diavolo. Dalot joined United in a £18m deal from Porto in 2017 but has struggled for fitness and form at Old Trafford, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferring Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Dalot has made 24 appearances for Milan in all competitions this season, which is more than he made in any single season since joining United, so in that respect the loan move could be regarded as a success. United’s response to the bid is not mentioned.
