MN: Milan pushing ahead with €30m deal as Botman chooses ‘history’ over Newcastle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are progressing well in talks to sign defender Sven Botman but must find an agreement with Lille to get the deal done, a report claims.

MilanNews reports how there are more and more signs suggesting that Milan have a desire to close a deal for Botman in the coming weeks and the news also began to spread in England with the BBC reiterating that the Dutchman would very much like to play for the Rossoneri.

As per the report, Newcastle will try again but ‘in terms of the coat of arms there is no history’, suggesting that Botman would prefer to join a more prestigious club and one that – barring a disaster – should play in the Champions League next season.

Milan are negotiating with Lille to try and close the deal at around the €30m mark and Paolo Maldini must try to find an agreement as soon as possible to secure the 22-year-old and avoid the inclusion of other foreign clubs.

  1. He’s coming to Newcastle and it’ll be for a lot more than 30m euros, Italy is a poor league, you might have history but we’ve got the best league in the world
