Fabrizio Romano has revealed more details on the operation that will see Goncalo Ramos join AC Milan from PSG.
As of Thursday, the talk about Milan making a move for Ramos had gathered pace, with an initial offer sent. Less than 24 hours later, news broke that all of the terms were agreed over a club-record deal and that the striker had already undergone a medical in the USA.

A lot of fans and pundits are still attempting to try and piece together what led to the Rossoneri taking the plunge so decisively for the former Benfica star. On his YouTube channel, Romano reveals some details about Ramos’ arrival (via MilanNews).
“AC Milan, making such a significant investment – now we’re getting to the numbers – deserves a moment’s explanation. Gonçalo Ramos is one of the top three in the world in terms of strikers available on the market this summer,” he began.
“Mind you, I’m not saying he’s one of the top three strikers in the world, but in terms of players available on the market, you can see for yourself that there are very, very few. Then there’s the financial issue, and here I’ll leave you with all the assessments because the agreement between Milan and Paris Saint-Germain is a record deal.
“It’s a sensational agreement in terms of figures because Milan are making a truly strong, very important investment, desired by one person – Gerry Cardinale – because he immediately wanted to please his new coach, Ruben Amorim.
“It’s no coincidence that we told you how Milan, in this new corporate structure that’s different from the traditional one, certainly wanted to include both its owner, Gerry Cardinale, and its coach, Ruben Amorim, as a fundamental integral part of the decisions.
“Amorim will give instructions, Cardinale will be very present. to follow them and this is what is happening immediately with Gonçalo Ramos.”

In a tweet on his social media account, the journalist went on to confirm the terms of the operation: “The transfer fee for Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan: €74m fixed plus add-ons to Paris Saint-Germain.” It is a record for Milan by some margin.
“The player has said yes with great enthusiasm. He has already spoken to Ruben Amorim, so Ruben Amorim is very involved, he has indicated Gonçalo Ramos as a priority,” Romano continued.
“I’ll tell you a behind-the-scenes story. Ruben Amorim had already asked Manchester United for Ramos a year ago, he’s a player they wanted to sign a year ago, Paris Saint-Germain blocked it, so it wasn’t possible.
“Man United went for Sesko a year ago, but he’s a player who’s been in Ruben Amorim’s head for a long time, not just because he’s Portuguese, but above all because he’s strong.
“When Gonçalo Ramos has had the chance to play and in Paris with those stars up front, it’s never easy, he’s always given answers, absolute professionalism, but now he really wants to play as a starter, he’ll be able to play the protagonist at Milan, where he will be, in short, I’d say Ruben Amorim’s undisputed centre-forward.”

This is probably the biggest overpay in football history. A 30mil player bought for 74+mil. Napoli bought Hojlund for 40mil while he is valued at 60mil. Vlahovic was also available for way cheaper. Both have better stats.
Napoli paid 50 for Hojlund and he scored 4 goals in the EPL the season before they bought him and less goals total in all competitions for ManUtd while playing twice the minutes Ramos did.
