CM: Milan admirers of Athletico Paranaense sensation but fear Europe-wide auction

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are admirers of Brazilian forward Vitor Roque but are also aware that they could easily be priced out of the race, a report claims.

Goal reported yesterday that Milan are big admirers of Vitor Roque who exploded onto the scene by winning the U20 South American Championship with Brazil, scoring six goals in eight games. He is already established in the Brazilian Serie A too, collecting 29 appearances plus 5 goals so far, meaning he has attracted several clubs in Europe.

Calciomercato.com write how Roque has become an immovable starter for Athletico Paranaense at just 17 years old and has already shown his ability to play the centre-forward role thanks to his movement and technical ability.

Milan have been watching him and are aware of his talent but they also know an international auction is raging for the teenager with PSG, Chelsea and Barcelona all ready to battle it out with offers of over €30m, which is his current valuation.

  1. Watched some highlights and he looks exciting. Can’t believe he’s only 17. Strong, fast, aggresive, good ball control, great shot. Too bad we won’t afford him.

Only downside is he’s pretty small, so Pioli’s brain will implode if he has to find other strategy than long balls at a tall striker.
