Gianluca Di Marzio has given an update on Leon Goretzka, confirming that Milan are the team closest to getting his signature.

Goretzka is one of the names that has been most extensively linked in view of the summer transfer window. Milan are looking to add a bit more experience to the midfield department having already added Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot, with the German seen as a perfect fit.
The right-sided role in the midfield trio has been the spot up for grabs this season under Massimiliano Allegri. With his deal expiring at Bayern Munich, Goretzka could arrive and immediately start, hopefully helping the Rossoneri in their potential return to the Champions League.
Goretzka: Milan ‘the most advanced’
Speaking on Sky, Di Marzio (via MilanNews) revealed the latest on Goretzka and he confirmed that Milan have taken the most concrete steps towards signing him.
“Several clubs have made moves, including AC Milan and Juventus. What I can say is that the Rossoneri are pushing hard. Milan are moving forward because they believe the German is the ideal addition to their already strong midfield,” he said.
“Of course, until there are final agreements and signatures, it’s always best to be cautious, especially when we’re talking about players of this type whose contracts are expiring. However, the signs are positive: Milan are the team most advanced and want to close this deal.”
