Sky: Milan have ‘advanced strongly’ for Bordeaux midfielder – agents at work to close deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hopeful of closing a deal with Bordeaux for midfielder Jean Onana in the coming days, according to a report.

According to what was reported by Gianluca Di Marzio – who spoke on the Sky programme Calciomercato L’Originale (via MilanNews) – Milan have ‘advanced strongly’ in their pursuit of the 22-year-old Onana.

The midfielder was left out of the matchday squad entirely for their Ligue 2 game against Grenoble last night which could well be a sign that an exit is close, and tomorrow the player’s agents will be in Bordeaux to try to close the operation.

Milan will try to agree a loan with option to buy deal but they are also ready to make an offer for a permanent purchase worth around €5-6m. Bordeaux are asking for €10m, but they have some economic difficulties that mean they could accept a lower bid.

The alternative is Aster Vranckx of Wolfsburg, but there is optimism that Milan will close the deal for the Cameroon international Onana.
