CM: Milan in advanced talks over renewal of defender – the details including salary

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in advanced talks with Pierre Kalulu over the renewal of his contract and it could all be agreed shortly, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Milan management are working to lock down Pierre Kalulu who was one of the main players in the Scudetto win last season, during which he stepped up after Simon Kjaer’s injury and has managed to keep his place in the starting line-up.

Directors Ricky Massara and Paolo Maldini have been in constant contact with the French defender’s entourage since last May, and relations are excellent so the parties are working towards the extension of the current 2025 deadline.

The former Lyon man currently earns €400k net per season and the offer put forward by Milan is to triple that to €1.2m per year, whereas Kalulu is looking for €1.5m. Nonetheless, a new meeting is already scheduled before the end of September to try resolve those final details because Kalulu wants to stay and the club want to reward him.

  1. Sometimes its worth haggling. This is not the time. Pay him the difference and get him signed up to a nice long contract. Then get Leao renewed or sold.
