AC Milan are getting closer to reaching an agreement over the extension of Ismael Bennacer’s contract, according to a report.
Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) reports that after the meeting between the Milan management and Bennacer’s new agent Enzo Raiolo, an agreement between the parties is getting closer.
The month of January could be the decisive one to reach a full agreement over terms and therefore for the signing and the official announcement.
The Rossoneri have lost key players for free in the recent past and don’t intend to do it again with Bennacer and Rafael Leao, whose contracts both expire in June 2024 meaning there is a sense of urgency.
Bennacer is one of the most important players in the team and is also a cornerstone of the project, so losing him would be a bad sign and would leave a hole in the squad that will be tough to fill.
I think I’ve read this same story every week since last summer.
Thought it’s just me, if they can’t tie players to new contracts, just sell and make some money to reinvest.
