CM: Milan ahead of Juventus in battle to land €30m Lille midfielder – the reason

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to sign Renato Sanches from Lille this summer but they now face competition from Juventus, a report claims.

Calciomercato.com report how Renato Sanches has managed to get himself back to his best after a difficult move to Bayern Munich that didn’t work out, and with his performances for Lille catching the eye it is no surprise that Milan and Juventus have taken an interest in him.

Both are thinking about the possibility of bringing him to Serie A in the summer but it will be difficult to convince all parties involved, including and especially his agent Jorge Mendes.

The Rossoneri are ahead of the Bianconeri in the race because they moved first and because of the relationship they have with Lille. A general agreement between the two clubs has been found in recent months over a fee, but one with Mendes and the player is missing.

Juve have not yet gone that far but have asked for information on the 24-year-old and are evaluating him very carefully. Sanches’ valuation is about €30m, the two clubs have been warned.

  1. 30 million for a player who almost never plays more than one-third of the games of his team during a season is a complete waste of money…

  2. Anaximander dont forget that Sanches is in last year of contract with Lille i dont understand how Maldini and Comp want to spend 30 millions on him!
