AC Milan have reignited their interest in signing Antony two years after they tried to beat Ajax to his signature, according to a report.
According to Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), Geoffrey Moncada has followed Antony since 2020 when he was at Sao Paulo and they were readying an offer to sign him as Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara had been convinced.
However, Ajax beat Milan to him and paid €20m to bring him to Amsterdam to replace Hakim Ziyech, who in the meantime flew to London to sign for Chelsea. In the 2021-22 campaign he truly exploded with 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 games across all competitions.
Milan need a right winger and they are enticed by the idea of signing Antony in the summer mercato but they do not intend to enter an auction to secure him, which could be an issue as Manchester United – now led by head coach Erik Ten Hag who left the Dutch capital – have offered €45m.
The Rossoneri have remained a bit dormant in the recent period due to the change in ownership but Antony’s name remains circled in red on Maldini and Massara’s potential shopping list.
Antony is my dream-signing for right wing. Has been so for two years now. But regrettably Tuttosport is not even close to a reliable source, and the price-tag is of course far too high.
Yeah, we can’t compete with half of Premier League or any of the other big clubs. Milan can just hope that there isn’t interest from those other clubs.

If I were Maldini, I’ll go all in for De Ketelaere and Antony. They said the transfer budget is 100M. I’ll give 45 for DK and 55 for Antony. I think that for the rest of the team i’ll be fine. We have Giroud and Origi as strikers and Rebic or Leao if necessary and for the wings we have Leao on LW and Antony at RW with Rebic, Florenzi, Salemaekers and Diaz if necesary. And with the sold of 2/3 players we can buy Sanches for 20 millions.
In midfield we are OK with the addition of Adli and the return of Pobega. In defence with the return of Kjaer it’ll be fine but we have to keep Romagnoli.
Buy Renato on top, then renew Romagnoli and get Bellotti for free and here you are.
Letting the 5.5m per year Romagnoli go will help with your plans. You forget that we have Caldara and Leo Duarte on the books. These players are fine as CB4 and CB5. Gabbia can go on loan. Caldara is actually a capped Italy players, he’s just had a lot of misfortune with injuries, but he managed to stay healthy last season on loan at Venezia. So it would be Tomori CB1, Kalulu CB2, Kjaer CB3, Caldara CB4, Leo Duarte CB5.

There will be only one big purchase- unfortunately. And that purchase- I really don’t see why – will be the injury prone zaniolo. All the other movement will be cheap. I really do not understand why Milan – since Berlusconi- has never been on the radar of big investors (like in the case of PSG, Man City, Newcastle etc.). I would really love to read an analysis on this topic from Sempre Milan editors. Why on earth we have to stick with Eliot like investors. If it weren’t for Maldini, Masara and Moncada, we would have been struggling at the mid table

Find another Antony, someone as talented but definitely not as expensive. I’m sure there are options out there that Moncada can find. Ajax won’t sell Antony for anything under 80 millions.

If it’s true that ManU have already made a bid for him then it’s safe to say that he’s not coming to Milan. Antony is a talented player, who could probably light Serie A on fire with his speed and dribbling but I’d rather Milan invest in a player like Akinkunmi Amoo from Copenhagen for the right wing position for the near future. He’s definitely a player we should buy and immediately send out on a loan deal. Berardi however, should be our primary target for the that position if we are not keeping Messias. Diaz is also a natural winger who Pioli should utilize more in that position next season. Origi can also play on the right as well so there will be a lot of options for Pioli next season.

Leao on LW, Antony on RW, CDK on CAM, Origi on ST.. it will be a nightmare for defenders.. this will be a dream team to watch.
But we all know we are not getting ANY of Antony or CDK. Our management won’t pay 60 mil and 50 mil for the respective players. So we will get Zaniolo for RW and stick with Diaz on CAM.
But those 110 mil spent would get crazy ticket sales. Milan fans will come to watch games just because of those names. A milan fan can only dream of those signings.
Just beat MU offer or matched it. 35m CDK and 45m Antony are truly worth . We can get extra money from sale player like hauge,Duarte,castilejo,caldara,and some unused academy player to fund botman/bremer transfer
We won’t need any extra money. 35 + 45 + 20 (Sanches) = the 100m that we supposedly have for transfers and gets us precisely the 3 reinforcements we need. We need no one else. We don’t need a CB.
Why would they sell for 45M if they can get 5 or probably 10 more from PL. They also paid 22M for him with bonuses, they have to give 20% of profit as well, so they will look for the highest bidder and we can’t compete with anyone. West Ham or even Burnley can outbid us. Not going to even mention the big clubs and other nations.

This would be a great signing but sadly won’t happen if Man United have already bid 45M. Similar to Bremer and Botman – once EPL teams jump in we have ZERO chance – unless a player is in the last year of their deal and demands to come to our club. So unfortunately this is another pipe dream that will not come true. I fear the rumors of us and CDK are far fetched as well. We will NOT be getting a discount from Brugge and CDK likely costs between 40-50M. To me he’s worth it but I don’t see us spending that kind of $a one one player. Seems all the excitement of Redbird has died down a bit and reality has set in – we will operate in the exact same way as with Elliot. No big purchases. Bargain signings. We will see if this model can work again this upcoming season. Time will tell.
