GdS: Milan already have ideas regarding future of Messias and €9m operation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan already have ideas about what to do with Junior Messias when his loan expires at the end of the season, according to a report.

It was not an easy start to life at Milan for Messias after his deadline day move from Crotone on loan with option to buy, but La Gazzetta dello Sport report that his period of natural acclimatisation and the injury problems he had now seem to be behind him.

Messias’ story was brought into the eyes of football fans around the world when he scored on his debut in the Champions League through a header that gave Milan their first win in the tournament after seven years of absence.

The 30-year-old found more and more continuity and in the end he has convinced Stefano Pioli, who considers him a starter-level player like Alexis Saelemaekers. Regarding his option to buy, Milan and Crotone will discuss it at the end of the season but the feeling is that if things go on like this the deal will be completed for a total €9m, when factoring in the loan fee too.

  1. 9 mill euros for Messias is way to much. He has not been good enough, and will be 31 next season. There are far more exciting players out there.

  2. no ,he will play less until the end of the season to reduce his price ,just like they did with tonali ,they benched him last season and reduced the price more

  3. 9m is a ton for an average wingerbin his 30s… i like messias but come on guys we need a class winger on the right. My guess is that we don’t have the money because we want to waste it on botman who is great but won’t improve our team much from where it is now. Whereas a striker and rw will drastically improve our team

    1. 100% in agreement with this. We need to spend the 50-60m being talked about for a CB and CM on a ST and RW, and extend Romagnoli. Then we can worry about a CB in 2023 to replace Kjaer, who will be 34 by then.
