CM.it: Milan and Inter both retain interest in signing Atalanta centre-back

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been linked with Merih Demiral extensively in the past and it seems that they are still interested in signing him, a report claims.

As reported by Calciomercato.it, Demiral is a target for Inter who tried to sign him in the January window in the event Milan Skriniar left the club, and the Nerazzurri will still need to replace the Slovakia international plus Stefan de Vrij as well in all likelihood.

However, Demiral also seems to be ideal for Milan’s three-man rearguard and in June the Rossoneri could evaluate an offer to Atalanta for the Turkish centre-back, formerly of Juventus.

The 25-year-old – whose contract expires in 2025 – is not one of Gasperini’s first choices and his future could be far from Bergamo. Inter and Milan are both circling, sensing a chance to bolster their defensive depth with the signing of a player who knows the league very well.

    1. Seriously? People are still on Berardi? That dude just signed up for life at Sassuolo, and he will be 29 in August. Assuming he would even want to leave Sassuolo, which again I repeat he just signed a new 5 year contract (so no he doesn’t want to leave, otherwise why extend?), it would cost is 30-35m. No thanks.

      1. You might be right about Berardi, buy he tore up Roma today 🙂 Maybe we should go for Frattesi – he was really good too.

      2. Messi is 35 and just won the Footballer of the Year award. Modric won Ballon d’Or at 33. Your point? +30-year-olds are useless?

  1. Yeah, go on. Spend 20m on this guy and then embarrass yourselves by trying to get involved in the deal for Scalvini when he’s worth 50m in 12 months time.

    1. Ronaldo says he’s one of the best there is. Juve is a terribly run club and Atalanta don’t know what they are doing.
