AC Milan have missed out on RB Leipzig sporting director Paul Mitchell who has completed a move to Ligue 1 side Monaco.
TMW recently reported that the current idea is for Rangnick to sit on the Milan bench with a man in charge of recruitment by his side too, with Mitchell the main candidate as current sporting director Frederic Massara’s position is under scrutiny.
However, Paul Mitchell will not be part of Rangnick’s supporting staff at Milan as he has moved to the south of France to become Monaco’s new sporting director.
The 38-year-old ‘will be in charge of the entire sports policy for AS Monaco’ – their official website confirms – from the academy system to the senior squad and even their affiliate club in Belgium – Cercle Brugges.
The Manchester-born executive held positions at Southampton and Tottenham before his experience in Germany, and he arrives with Laurence Stewart who joins the club as Head of Recruitment and Sports Development.
