Strahinja Pavlovic has had a coming of age season at AC Milan, and they are already having to think about a contract adjustment.

As Calciomercato.com report, the Massimiliano Allegri treatment has improved Pavlovic’s performance levels a lot from his first season. The Serbian has become reliable not just in the defensive phase but also as a weapon going forward, detaching from the back three.

After 28 league games, Milan have the best defence in Europe’s top five leagues, and Pavlovic has been a big part of that. This is a stark contrast to what we saw last season, especially when the Rossoneri conceded goals repeatedly, finishing the season with 43 goals conceded (1.13 per game).

Despite this, the line-up hasn’t changed, except for the switch between Malick Thiaw (sold for over €40m to Newcastle) and Koni De Winter. This season, the Rossoneri have conceded just 20 goals in 28 league games so far, a 0.71 per game.

The €

The CIES (International Centre for Sports Studies) Football Observatories has published a report indicating the players with the highest market value for each Serie A team. Milan’s most valuable player is Pavlović at €50-58m.

For reference, the ranking sees Juventus talent Kenan Yıldız in first place, valued between €123-145m. Moving down the list are Lautaro Martinez at €94-109m, then Santiago Castro at €59-68m and Matias Soulé at €53-61m. Pavlovic comes in fifth place.

Milan therefore can look to the future with optimism, convinced that the former RB Salzburg player – at just 24 – still has plenty of room for growth in both the short and long term. However, the issue is that Premier League clubs have noticed this too.

So, the management working on extending Pavlovic’s contract, which expires in 2028. The Diavolo have an option for a one-year renewal, but have begun talks over an extension until 2031 and a pay rise from €1.7m net per year to €2.5m.

    1. LOL. I dont agree with the Article, i will say tho, Defenders (or CB) are currently at a premium. Liverpool keep searching for one and were willing to pay crz for the crystal palace guy. Only outbid by citi. Van Dijk isnt getting any younger. Madrid is looking for defenders after each CB they got injured. While i dont think he’s worth 50+, i do think he’s had a nice season, has been consistent and has grown.

  1. Milan have the best defense in the top five leagues!!!!??…well someone needs to say that a lot louder in this forum because the Sempre Milan Forum is repeatedly calling for certain of our CB’s to be sold.

  2. “The CIES (International Centre for Sports Studies) Football Observatories has published a report indicating the players with the highest market value for each Serie A team. Milan’s most valuable player is Pavlović at €50-58m.”

    Really? Not Pulisic? 😂😂😂
