While AC Milan continue to think about the next sporting director and head coach, the scouts are at work on transfer targets. The latest is Diego Coppola.

As TMW report, Coppola could become the next capital gain for Hellas Verona. The central defender, who is an Italy U23 international, has been one of the best players this season for the Scaligeri, despite the many goals conceded.

Thiago Motta likes him a lot, even if his signing for Juventus would be closely tied to Champions League qualification. Motta is also in doubt, more than ever in the balance after the 0-4 defeat against Atalanta. The coach would only stay in the event of obtaining fourth place.

In recent weeks there has also been an enquiry by Milan. The valuation is always the same – around €10m, including bonuses – for someone who would represent a full capital gain for Verona, having grown up in their youth system.

He has just turned 21 and this season has collected 25 appearances, with one goal to his name. Coppola scored a fundamental goal against Udinese in the 1-0 win on 20 April 2024, a victory that launched the Gialloblu towards remaining in Serie A for another year.

  1. that’s a steal and with Tomori’s sale we also get 15M in profit. We can use that for de Cuyper to finally have competition for Theo. Walker option is already cheap.

The big changes are needed in midfield! Ricci and a CDM are a must at this point.

  2. At this point in Milan’s mess, a rising star isn’t needed, but a winner, experience and dress room leaders are needed. Even I want Italians to be the core of the team, but no to experiments.
