CM: Milan beat Juventus to €1.5m striker signing – he will join Abate’s Primavera side

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have beaten one of their big rivals to the signing of teenage striker Tommaso Mancini from Vicenza, according to a report.

Milan will face off against Vicenza in their final preseason friendly of the summer on Saturday and it seems they could well use the opportunity to get the deal for Mancini over the line having been at work on the operation in recent days and weeks.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are in the final stages of talks with the Serie C club over the signing of the 18-year-old, who already has nine appearances for the first team despite his young age.

Juventus were also interested in signing him, but the Rossoneri made the decisive acceleration and are settling the last few details with the player after having found an agreement with the Venetians over a transfer fee.

Milan will pay €1.5m plus bonuses to Vicenza, and the idea is that Mancini will join up initially with the Primavera where he should get regular minutes before assessing where he is at in terms of his development.
