Tuttosport: Milan begin hunt for a 20+ goals per season striker ahead of summer 2023

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan management are already aware that they will have to invest in a striker next summer who can lead the line going forward, a report claims.

It seems to occur at least once per season that Stefano Pioli is battling a crisis in his forward department and he is currently trying to juggle one now with Olivier Giroud the only fit centre-forward being asked to work overtime at the age of 35.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), Milan are preparing to make a big signing for the attack in the summer of 2023, namely a top-tier striker who will guarantee at least 20 goals per season.

This means that there would not be too much pressure on Giroud who could then be used in the right situations, while Divock Origi’s condition has not fully convinced so far and the retirement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is another factor that must be taken into consideration.

  1. Bad management. They knew ibra, Giroud are technically in thier last milage. Rebic is same Rebic start season 2 games then out for 5 month. On top of this they brought injured 2nd class ststriker. it’s not about money rather than strategic planning

    1. Not really. Origi’s and Rebic’s prolonged injuries were not expected. Moreover, the club simply didn’t have enough budget to buy a top-class striker. Summer 2023 is the right time for a striker hunt.
If there’s something debatable, it’s the choice of Origi over Belotti, but it’s tactical.

      1. Indeed the change of ownership placed a lid on any ambitious signing, Origi came as a free agent, DKT took most of the budget, since Redbird took over there are reasons to be optimistic

  2. meme aside
who wouldve thought origi to be injured like this
if we knew we would gladly get belotti, who is also injury prone.

right now, might be a good chance for new players and new formations to be tried. time to field cdk adli diaz and messias on same field

  3. You all are now hiding, where is the origi supporters who called belloti aVerage and said he can’t play for a top team, no minding he is far better than Origi in both assists and goals….nobody is supporting Origi now but thEn everybody was screaming about Origi as if he is Messi, let us tell the truth, the right player was belloti, he is a fan, guarantees goals and would die for us on the pitch, now we are overworking a 35 years old man.

Most of you here are hypocrites, I am so surprised that most of you are Now against the same Origi…..admit it, we bought the wrong forward and that was why klop was playing him once Ina blue moon cos he knows the guy is never 100% fit

    1. I am not hiding. I am still a very big supporter of the choice to bring in a talent like Origi. It is WAY too early to declare him a failure. It is a shame he has this injury; it’s impossible to predict injuries — he didn’t have injury history like Eden Hazard or something like that.

Once he returns healthy after the international break, he will contribute goals and assists. I remain confident of that. I’ve watched him a lot both at Liverpool and for Belgium national team and other than Lewandoski and Luis Muriel of Atalanta, nobody in the top 5 leagues had more goals per minutes played than Origi. He is top quality and you will see it.

  4. Same old story, yet Milan will sign no one,I remember when the guy they called new maradona in Napoli was suggested to Milan and the management decided to over look him even with a little money to buy him, today he is the talk of Seria A. All
the strikers are having one issue or the other, the new owners should wake up this winter to invest in that area.

  5. Lack of funds does make it hard….spending big on cdk was a right move……its nerve system of any team to create opportunities…..comparing belloti and origi was insane both players are miles apart. Origi was a bit impact player in Liverpool side loaded with insane forward line…..belloti is already a proven player in league much faster to adopt…May be management knows it better but they missed a chance to tie him for free…..my money was on belloti right from day one…..both players have their injuries but may be may be origi adoption to play on wings might have forced management to go for him…..but seeing rebic form and injuries list of team if giroud goes down we are in big mess. January will be a bit late our season might crumble even before that…..with 9 seria a matches along with 5 champions league games…..thats alot

  6. They had a chance to sign Belotti who wanted Milan. Instead they opted for origi….and now? Some of Milan strategy just doesn’t make sense.

  7. You all shgould stop calling belloti as if he’s the right man to sign. Back then when we wanted him they lash a huge amount of money on him on release clause and he was even not so interested of joining Milan then. IF truly he wanted Milan then, he would have done what Tonali did as a core Milan supporter also forcing his way out knowing Milan have finally come for him but he didn’t rather having pride all over him and want to make milan sweat just because they need him. Funny enough that is not how is should be as a core Milan supporter. Origi and Belotti were free with both having injuries so we opt for Origi, not a bad ideal which you all know that origi is not a bad player after all but just the injury problem. Please you all should not forget that Pioli is a versatile coach who likes his team to have lot of versatile players, Maybe that’s the reason they went for Origi coz he plays LW & ST. So please you all should stop the Origi criticizing and support him to be back stronger. I rest my case.

  8. For 30 mil EUR we can find lots of decent players. Is there something arranged for the next window? Further, why not using Lazetic?

    1. There you go bro, you are absolutely right. I just do not understand why Mr Pioli is keeping this guy (Lazetic) on bench. Some will say he is not yet grown but how did R. Leao get to his current form and why is Brahim Diaz repeatedly used even when he rarely delivers.
I think Mr. Pioli should just give this guys equal chance to show their potentials.

  9. @Kossy,…”let us tell the truth, the right player was belloti, he is a fan, guarantees goals and would die for us on the pitch”. Are you kidding?
Where was this belotti (Mr goal and assist provider) when Milan needed a striker? What was his decision or what attempt did he (the so called die hard milan fan) make when Milan needed his services?
Let truth be told please, would he had accepted the peanut Milan was going to pay him then and finally how much was milan’s mercato budget then?
If he wanted Milan like you said he would have done what CDK did for Milan at Club Brugge or even Antony of Man Utd at Ajax as well.
Yes, it’s true that Rivock Origi has not lived up to expectations of the fans since he arrived but Origi still has something to offer once he is fit than Belotti. Just go and do your findings properly and please stop to criticize our players on this platform.
Let your Belotti with his goals and assist prowess deliver A.S.ROMA. DAMN!!!

  10. @Savicevic…There you go bro, you are absolutely right.

    1. LAzetic has been injured since begining of the season, that’s why you see him, Rebic, Krunic and ibrahimovic seating together watching matches

  11. Please when is summer and when is winter? If Milan cannot buy a classical striker in January sorry for you. You will go back to EUROPA

  12. Dybala was also for free I would have gone for he because he hardly gets injured plus he can play LW, RW, number 10 role and he can also play as a striker.. worry not about salary we need some top class player that can change the game. I never supported the origi idea. Dybala would have been the best for us trust me
