Sky: Milan believe Krunic’s replacement is already at the club

With Rade Krunic’s departure seemingly imminent, a report has suggested that AC Milan may already have his replacement at the club, meaning there could be no need to enter the market to replace him once he leaves.

Krunic’s transfer saga seems to have finally reached its final stage. In recent months, the Bosnian’s stance has been clear, and the situation has only worsened as we have gotten closer to January. However, with a move to Fenerbahce seemingly imminent, it is time for Milan to look at his replacement.

Sky Italy (via MilanNews) writes that the Rossoneri believe they already have his replacement at the club. Following his arrival from Hellas Verona, there have been reports that the club see Filippo Terracciano as being able to fill that role.

The Italian is highly versatile, and in his arsenal is the ability to play central midfielder – technical director Geoffrey Moncada identified this in a recent interview.

“We’ve been following him for two years. He’s a wild card in the defence, he can play right-back, left-back and even as a midfielder. He’s a profile who has played a lot, he has a good physique, we’re happy.”

  1. Considering he just arrived and didn’t have time to settle, Terracciano in my opinion was good with positioning awareness in last night match.

He was mostly always on the right spot, cleaning in defensive phase and also combined a lot with Leao on that left side. Seems quite intelligent player.

Would love to see him trained in more defensive midfield role and nurture in to a Tonali type of player.

    1. This is bad news for the present as the team needs an established, experienced defensive midfielder to steady the ship. Tonali’s absence has been felt and our midfield never reached levels of previous seasons. The team is not solid and we concede too easily.
I’m happy with Terracciano’s purchase but for him to replace Krunic, with Bennacer at Afcon at this point in the season , from a player who isn’t regularly a DM , it’s asking too much.

      1. They spent 60 millions on “established” midfield players in the summer. And where did that take us?

They were suppose to be targeting players like Koopmeiners, Amrabat, Ricci etc. Players that are Serie A established.

Bennacer, Kessie and Tonali were all Serie A players before they came to Milan. They were not really experienced but had combination of talent and league experience at least.

        1. Yes , I agree. Reijnders & Musah are good players but after Tonali/Kessie departures we needed a genuine midfield anchor with quality and dynamism, and it didn’t happen.

  2. Pioli genius strikes again, after last the game against Atalanta when he played Musah RW and Pulisic CAM now it’s gonna turn Teracianno from a RB/LB to a mildfielder.
Just leave the players to play their position!

    1. Terracciano told in his interview he started as midfielder and was later deployed as a wingback. He played couple of times as a midfielder even now in Verona.
