Tuttosport: Milan and Bennacer want to continue together – Enzo Raiola presents new bid over dinner

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are gaining in confidence that they will be able to extend the contract of Ismael Bennacer in the coming weeks, a report claims.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes that after the World Cup and the training camp in Dubai, the Milan management got to work on renewals again and they began with resuming discussions over Bennacer. A meeting was held with his agent yesterday, which gave positive results.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara met with the new agent of the Algerian midfielder, Enzo Raiola, and they let him know that they are willing to raise their offer to €4m net per season. It is a move that could prove decisive for the successful outcome of the negotiation that would tie Bennacer to the Rossoneri colors for another five seasons, therefore an extension worth €20m net.

The request presented by the agent was €4.5m net per season, a gap that can easily be bridged given all parties want to continue together. Yesterday evening Raiola was at dinner with Bennacer and presented him with Milan’s offer, and it feels like an agreement is near.

Bennacer’s renewal would really be a big leap for both the player and of course Milan, given his importance in Stefano Pioli’s tactical schemes. Sandro Tonali also made it clear that he wants him to stay in a recent interview.

“Fundamental for Milan, there is no other word to describe him. Fundamental. Raise the technical level. Difficult to play without Isma at this time,” he said.

Milan also know that it will be hard to find a replacement of Bennacer’s level on the market at the moment, so now the ball passes to the former Empoli man to see if he will accept the new bid.
