The AC Milan management are working to get the squad in place ahead of next season and they are proceeding in talks over Domenico Berardi, a report claims.
According to Calciomercato.it, Milan are soon set to change ownership with Elliott Management about to sell the club to Investcorp for a figure close to €1.1bn and the situation will inevitably also influence next summer’s transfer market, with the future owners ready to invest to reinforce the squad.
With this in mind, one of the hottest names is that of Berardi who has 14 goals and 15 assists this season. The 27-year-old could finally leave the Neroverdi before next season and he is very interested in the idea of a move to Milan, who want an upgrade on Messias and Saelemaekers.
Sassuolo want €35-40m in order to sell the Italy international but the deal could be closed at a discount for around €25m, which may be enough given the economic difficulties that practically all clubs are facing.
