CM.it: Milan want €30m-rated Berardi – Messias and Pobega involved in Maldini’s strategy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have decided to try and sign Domenico Berardi in the summer transfer window with Paolo Maldini putting a plan together, a report claims.

Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias currently occupy the two right wing spots while Samu Castillejo seems ready to leave at the end of the season, but there could also be a signing to boost the attack.

Calciomercato.it reports that Berardi is a target for the Rossoneri and has a valuation of around €30m, given that he is now on 10 goals and 10 assists in the league. It is a big price but within the reach of Milan because they might be able to convince the Neroverdi that they can help replace him.

Junior Messias was strongly sought by Sassuolo and they could turn to him to replace Berardi, while they also asked for information about Tommaso Pobega’s situation given his loan with Torino will expire in the summer.

The departure of Davide Frattesi – who appears destined to join Inter – would open the doors to a new midfield and Pobega from Milan could be the ideal replacement. The pieces are there to strike up a negotiation.

  1. berardi(30m), sanches(20m), botman(40m), getting messias(10m). adli, pobega, back from loans and belotti for free transfer. the team looks solid to be honest if all of this happens. with kessie, romagnoli, castilejjo, krunic leaving. for me looks a decent market. with three options for both wings and cam position and four for cdm position this team will have great depth.

    1. They have potential but they’re not necessarily better players. They play in an inferior league for starters.

Berardi is a guarantee. He’s been hitting double figures in goals and assists repeatedly for a few seasons now in a tough league like Serie A.

  2. Seria a teams dont sell to milan recently…they’ll say no to us or put on a ridiculous price then they’ll sell to juve for cheaper

  3. I don’t think Real Sociedad will let him go; but if we can somehow manage to get Alexander Isak, then we would have a striker who can score in many different ways, great pace, VERY young and IMHO, I think he will one day contend for a Balon D’Or trophy. Ibra and Giroud are old so we need a real world class striker if we want our team to get to the next level… yes, of course CAM with Diaz and RW with Saelemakers/Messias are weaker spots we need to address; but striker is most important in my opinion. Plus we can put Rebic on right side. To me, the 2 biggest areas to improve to help the team are Isak or some other excellent striker and then replace Diaz at CAM.

  4. Maignan, tomori, kjaer, calabria, theo, tonali, benacer, adli, leao, berardi, belotti. Sounds legit to me, but if can add sanchez or botman its marvelous

  5. Best in Serie A in his position, has been for a long time, insane that he’s still playing for Sassuolo. I wish we could get him. Worth every penny Sassuolo will ask for him.

  6. Milan can’t pay above 3 Million for italian player wages. I assume he will ask significant increase compares what he currently earns. A barak of verona could be a good fit
