Pellegatti: Milan take big step towards closing €13-18m deal for Kessie replacement

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have taken steps forward in their pursuit of Lille midfielder Renato Sanches are are closing in on a full agreement, a report claims.

Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to Milan repeatedly over the past few months with several reliable sources claiming he is the chosen heir to the departing Franck Kessie and that a deal was even close to being struck in the January window.

According to Carlo Pellegatti’s latest column for MilanNews, directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have made a ‘significant’ step forward towards signing the 24-year-old Portugal international.

That is because the amount of salary per year that Sanches is requesting through his agent Jorge Mendes has fallen to the parameters desired by the Milan management. The price tag has never been an issue and is somewhere in the range of €13-18m.

The hope is that the deal can be fully agreed in the coming days and weeks so Milan beat the competition to a player who can be a real difference maker in midfield.

  1. Sanches for 13-18M is an absolute steal. Would be an amazing deal to get such a player for such a low fee…Would love Touchemi but he wants to play in England and Kamara looks to sign for Athletico. Therefore, Sanches for this price is fantastic business by M&M

    1. It is not the price that blocking the deal , but his asking salary 6-7m euro nett/years. Unless he want accept salary like Theo salary, there is no way AC Milan sign him with 6m euro nett salary
