TMW: Milan keeping contacts alive with Bordeaux over Cameroon international

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are keeping contacts alive on two fronts as they look to secure a midfield signing in the next fortnight, a report claims.

According to the latest from TMW, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara remain in talks over a deal for Jean Onana of Bordeaux, who were relegated to the second division last season and could therefore be forced to sell.

At the moment, the number one target for the Rossoneri management is Raphael Onyedika of FC Midtjylland but if the operation with the Danish side does not quickly accelerate Maldini and Massara could then go for Onana.

Onana is a 22-year-old Cameroonian international who played 23 times in Ligue 1 last season, scoring two goals. Just like Rafael Leao, Mike Maignan, Fode Ballo-Toure and Divock Origi, Onana once played for Lille.

In August 2021, Onana moved to Bordeaux on a five-year contract and he was tipped to be one of the potential breakout players at the delayed 2021 AFCON but suffered an injury that meant he missed the tournament.
